Our Story

I developed a passion for machine embroidery two decades ago during our time owning a truck, when we first had jackets adorned with beautiful designs. Back then, my primary focus was raising our three sons: Scott, Andrew, and Jeremy.
Fast forward to 2011, when our sons had grown and left the nest with newfound time and determination, I immersed myself in the art of embroidery.
Guided by the expertise and support of Shelly, Dana, and Terry at Sew Downtown – my steadfast companions in this journey – I delved into learning the craft. Their invaluable assistance, especially in those initial years, helped me navigate through countless queries and challenges.
To this day, Sew Downtown remains my sanctuary, not only for its exquisite fabrics but also for the warmth and familial atmosphere they provide. And yes, they indulge my addiction to Kimberbell designs!
Beginning with a modest PE 770 machine, my repertoire has since expanded to include several multi-needle machines. My husband Doug and I proudly introduce ourselves as Kim and Doug Herrick, the faces behind Kim's Stitches From The Heart
Alongside our three sons, their wifes, and our nine beloved grandchildren, we form a tight-knit family dedicated to our craft.
At Kim's Stitches From The Heart, we offer comprehensive custom embroidery services, from digitizing to delivering finished products. Our expertise spans across all apparel, ranging from onesies to professional attire for small businesses. In 2023, we expanded our offerings to include sublimation, direct-to-film printing, and screen printing on apparel. Additionally, we now feature a selection of tumblers in various sizes – 40, 30, and 20 ounces – to cater to diverse preferences.
